Foa Agreement

DECEMBER 2019 REVIEW. This document applies to all NIH grants and cooperation agreements for budget periods beginning October 1, 2019 or after that date. The agreement in principle was approved by the boards of directors of FOA and fia. It will then be submitted to FOA members for the vote on the necessary constitutional changes at a meeting of members, as stipulated in the FOA statutes. The meeting is scheduled for July 24. Implementation of the proposals will also depend on the formation of the FIA Global and the constitutional changes necessary to the FIA statutes. In the meantime, FOA and FIA expect to hold several briefings for members to describe the new structure, explain its benefits and answer questions. As part of this agreement, the FIA will form a confederation with FOA with its subsidiary FIA Asia as part of FIA Global. This new structure will enable associations to strengthen their influence on cross-border issues, significantly improve coordination and information flows between regions, and provide a strong global voice to express the views of FOA and FIA members.
